Thankful

We had the most relaxing Thanksgiving ever this year. Instead of the traditional slaving in the kitchen, entertaining of the guests, or travel back and forth to family, we decided to spend Thanksgiving this year pampering ourselves! We hit Pagosa Springs and soaked in the hot springs for a couple of days. It was absolutly wonderful! We left on wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, and stayed the night in The Springs resort. It was a bit of a drive, 4 hours, so by the time we got up there it was late afternoon, the kids were definitly antsy and we were all ready for a dip! We dropped off our bags, threw down some Subway and headed for the pools!

The hot springs at night is pretty cool! The resort was all lite up with christmas lights, which Connor loved. The nights air was so crisp and cool; next to the hot springs everything was a misty fog, you could barely see a foot in front of you. This was a bridge that ran across one of the ponds to the 109 degree spring-YIKES!!

There was also a fire pit in the middle of some of the pools with seating around it. A little gazebo set up for serving drinks ( I would assume on the warmer days! :)

So nice! It was great to soak in the springs after a long drive and on such a clear, cool night!

After soaking for a while we headed back to our room to let the boys burn off some energy.....

and then settled down for a viewing of Space Chimps.

We were a little unsure of what the morning would bring, Thanksgiving morning. It was reported that a big storm was blowing our way, supposed to hit around 3 am. We were bummed out because we figured that we would have to get up and leave right away in order to make it home safely. Much to our suprise we woke up to NO snow! This left time for another dip in the springs; and let me tell you this was an awesome way to wake up in the morning! The resort and it's springs were just as beautiful in the morning as they were all lite up at night!

After a few hours it began to rain so we had to leave. Packed up all our stuff and headed home to a pre-cooked meal by Honey Baked Ham! Yum!!! This was by far one of the nicest Thanksgivings I've ever had! Having the 5 of us together, spending quality time together, that is truly when I'm at my happiest. We have so much to be thankful for!! We ar SO blessed!
